5th Annual Best of Fest!

April 03, 2018 in IndieWorks

Celebrating another amazing year of films & filmmakers!

IndieWorks screens short films every month produced by emerging filmmakers throughout New York. It provides a platform for those filmmakers to showcase their work in front of an audience and to network with individuals in the local film community. We aim to create a space that sparks discussion & collaboration and pushes our peers and ourselves to find inspiration from each other.

Our annual season runs June through March, culminating in our Best of Fest Finale every April. Out of 173 submissions during our 5th year, we were able to screen 46 wonderful films and webisodes. Tuesday, April 17th, all 8 of our monthly Silver Whiskers Award winners of the year, along with 2 lucky Audience Chosen winners (who were our two highest scoring non-Silver Whisker winning films of the year), will screen again and be eligible for monetary prizes! The top prize comes with winning the Golden Whiskers Award, our version of Best Picture; but we'll also be awarding Best Writer/Director, Best Ensemble Performance, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and the audience will vote for the Ultimate Audience Choice winner! Best of Fest will be held at our usual The Local in Long Island City, but with more of a party-vibe! As always, there's no entry fee, so bring all your friends and film enthusiasts out to watch these 10 fantastic films and close out this season in celebration!
